Our Lady of Loreto Preschool and PreK Programs

(eligible students must be 3years old by October 1st of the first enrolled academic year)

Our Preschool program offers a faith-based, loving, and safe learning environment. Through play we provide a wide range of experiences and opportunities that encourage a life-long love of learning and prepare our youngest students for a school environment. Our play-based curriculum is developmentally appropriate and emphasizes whole-child development. We focus on the following skills:

  • Social-Emotional:  Self-regulation, emotional processing, awareness of social cues, self-help/adaptive skills, sharing, taking turns, asking for help, helping others, praising, and encouraging others, celebrating success, following a routine, and staying on task.

  • Spirituality and Catholicism: Spiritual development and growing the intrinsic human capacity for self-transcendence, in which the self is embedded in something sacred and greater than the self. Learning about God’s great love for us, our Catholic prayers, and the Bible (God’s Book) are a small portion of our Preschool Faith Development. We strive to develop connectedness, community, meaning, purpose, and contribution. We hold sacred, our Catholic traditions, beliefs, and practices. We also use presentations from the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

  • Curiosity, Creativity, Approaches to Learning: We encourage and build the capacity for traits that drive future learning, wonder, curiosity, creativity, innovation, independent thinking (outside the box), and an inborn drive to use the scientific method (questioning, hypothesizing, testing)

  •   Academics of Language, Literacy, Math & Logic:  Our integrated curriculum drives whole child development. Through play we learn expressive (speaking) and receptive (listening) linguistic skills, basic concepts of numeracy (counting), geometry (shapes and spatial awareness), logic, and reasoning.

  •   Physical/Motor Skills:  Growth and development associated with the body such as large movements associated with arms and legs and small/fine motor skills associated with hands and fingers. i.e., dexterity, coordination, balance, and strength

Our administration begins prayer at 8:00am and each classroom then follows their own schedule for the day. We offer half-day (8:00am-10:45am) and full-day (8:00am-2:45pm) schedules. A full-day schedule includes lunch, specials, and nap/rest time.

We use developmentally appropriate, hands-on curriculum in each of our classrooms. This type of play-based, integrated curriculum provides multiple opportunities throughout each day for students to learn the afore-mentioned concepts.

Teachers are consistently modeling the values and mission of our school. When students learn these intrinsic values in a safe, nurturing, loving environment, they have a well-prepared foundation for being disciples today and leaders tomorrow.
