I have been teaching as a classroom teacher for 17 years. I began my career in the public sector, in Cherry Creek schools for 15 years. In 2015, I took a leap of faith and accepted a job abroad in Costa Rica, where I worked at the American International school of CR for 2 years. I am grateful to be here at OLOL for this chance to help the students gain an appreciation for Spanish.
I am from a large family. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, 14 nieces and nephews, all of whom are fantastic people. My faith really grew and strengthened when I was abroad on my own. I found comfort and protection from Christ when in Costa Rica that resides with me still. It is a feeling of warmth, truth and calmness I find in him daily.
I take pleasure in working out, meeting new people, being adventurous, traveling, going to concerts, spending time with friends and family, but especially hanging out with my Alaskan malamute dog child, Kenai.
As the Spanish teacher here, I work with all grades k-8th. It is my goal that all students will learn to recognize the language outside of school, be able to converse and develop an appreciation for what a second language can provide them in their own lives.
